October 2024

Autumn is one of those magical seasons.  With the leaves of the trees changing colour, the oranges, yellows and reds being scattered on the grass against the backdrop of blue sky is mesmerising and beautiful.  The air becomes frosty and the smells of delicious warm stews teasing our senses whilst walking along the paths around the area.  What a delightful time of year to get the board games and puzzles out and spend fun evenings with your family.  Why are us humans not like all other animals that slow their pace down during the chillier months?  Instead, we push through the signs when our bodies are telling us we are tired and stressed and feeling pressured to keep up the pace.  Autumn should be a time of gathering, just like animals.  A time we take a moment to reflect, spend time snuggled together with the family, feeding our bodies wholesome foods to allow it to heal and also a time to breathe and heal from the fast pace of life.

Taking time for ourselves is such an important aspect of one’s healing and ensuring there is balance in our lives. This month, I have promised myself to try some of the classes that are run at the Centre.  I sit in the office watching people coming to do a class and leave looking more energised and relaxed all at the same time.  If this is something that you feel you would benefit from – visit our website www.cgctrust.uk or pop into the centre to find out what we have running.  There are so many different activities and I am confident that there is one especially for you.

We have been receiving some amazing art for our Autumn Art Competition.  It always astounds us at how creative people can be.  Thank you to all of you who entered.

Donations required:

Once again, we are really hoping to spread a little joy this Christmas.  Your help with donating some treats will be greatly appreciated.  The deadline for donations is the 25th November.

Until Next month,

Noleen Andrews
